A facebook status is like a Tweeter post that is shared either to your friends only or to everyone on the Web. As of today, the status also include the location from where you posted it and also lets you tag friends and their links to others on your friend list. Pictures and videos are also a part of the Facebook social media. Depending on the privacy setting that is user-chosen, the albums included and posted in your “Profile” on Facebook can be seen and be commented by friends, friends of friends or everyone who uses the site.
Statuses define the overall character of your Facebook account. People who often are extrovert depend on status messages to express their feelings and emotions. For some, a simple funny facebook status makes their day and relieves stress from work. Often called as the What’s On Your Mind section, status can range from a personal situation, an emotional outrage and for music lovers, lyrics post. There are people who posts anniversaries and relationship statuses on Facebook and important dates. It can be compared as an emotional outlet for them to express their love and feelings towards their partner.
Updates in Facebook status should also be taken care of. There are accidents that people fight due to what they have said in their status. Because it is connected to the Internet, everybody could see your status updates. If you are getting drunk are is not yet legally at age to do so, family members or school teachers may see them and apply punishment. This is the downside for statuses that are shared for everybody. Although it is often debatable that social media networks cancels out a person’s privacy, recent Facebook changes has made sharing status for a specific group only. This group can be accessed either publicly or a private function that can only be accessed by members invited by the administrator of the group.
Although some find that Facebook status is annoying, a majority of the group tells that this update is a great idea. Serious Facebook statuses that include important details can take advantage of the fact that with a single post, they could connect to everybody. It all boils down to the proper use and function of a status and the thought that comes with it.
